The hash-key wallet

Agents and stakes answer to Winternitz one-time keys. Each signature reveals the key it used and names the next one. This page signs in your browser and refuses to sign twice with the same key number.

One key, one signature. A Winternitz key that signs two different messages can be forged. This page records every key number it uses in the key file before the signature leaves the page, and refuses a number already used. Save the file after every signature. Never sign from two copies of the file at once.

Every agent and every stake gets its own key chain inside the file, so no key ever serves two objects.

Receive an agent or a stake

To take over an object, give its owner a public key made for the key number their signature hands over at: their current key number plus one. The owner reads that number on their Keys page.

Bind a waiting key chain

If you created an agent or a stake with this file and the page closed before it learned the id, bind the waiting key chain to that id here.
